The Blytheville Chickasaws were defeated, 15-2, on a cold Thursday afternoon at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex by the Rivercrest Colts. The Chicks’ only runs came in the bottom of the third and the bottom of the sixth. Leading the BHS offense were Vancel Lucas (1-2 with two runs scored), Mac Connell (1-2 with an RBI), Ronald Connor (1-1 with a run scored), Chris Pugh (2-3 with an RBI) and Darren Henderson (1-2). Connell pitched five innings, allowing three earned runs, one hit and four walks. He struck out two Colt batters. Tuesday night the Chicks traveled to Marion for a 6A-5A Blended Conference matchup with the Marion Patriots. The Patriots defeated the Chicks, 18-6. The Chicks were led offensively by Lucas (3-3 with two runs scored), Connell (2-3 with a run scored and an RBI), Henderson (1-2 with a run scored and an RBI), Pugh ( 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI), Fink (2-3 with an RBI), Corey Chunn (1-3) and Myron Diamond (1-3 with a run scored). The Chickasaws will host the Southland Rebels Monday at 4 p.m.
