CHICKS FALL TO WYNNE; LADY CHICKS SPLIT
The Blytheville Chickasaws were tied 1-1 with 5A Conference foe the Wynne Yellowjackets after the first inning when Chickasaw Mac Connell drove in Vancell Lucas, but the YellowJackets took charge of the game and defeated the Chicks, 15-1, Thursday night.
The Yellowjackets scored 10 runs in the second inning, then added four more in the top of the fourth.
Lucas (run scored), Connell (1-2 with an RBI), Chris Pugh (2-2), Austin Higgins (1-1) and Corey Chunn (1-2) led the offense for the Chickasaws.
Chickasaws pitchers gave up 15 runs on 10 hits. They allowed six walks and fanned two batters.
The Chickasaws are set to travel to Wynne next Tuesday for a rematch.

The Lady Chickasaws split a conference doubleheader, Thursday, with the Wynne Lady Yellowjackets. The Lady Chicks defeated the Lady Yellowjackets, 13-3, in the first game but were upended, 20-2, in the second game.
BHS was led by Terika Dillard (three runs scored), Kensie Ray (run scored), Kamiaya Ware (two runs scored), Haley Atchley (run scored), Christi Fultz (run scored), Abby Wofford (two runs scored), Amy McGrain (two runs scored) and Conishuya Blankenship (run scored) in the first game.
The Lady Chickasaws will head to Piggott Tuesday to face the Piggott Mohawks.
