CHICKS LOSE HEARTBREAKER TO NETTLETON

Nettleton’s Kevin Fulton knocked down a jumper with three seconds left to hand the Blytheville Chickasaws a heartbreaking, 61-59 loss in conference action on Tuesday night. Blytheville (4-3, 8-7) trailed 16-15 at the end of the first quarter, but rallied for a 31-25 lead at halftime. The Chicks were playing without starter Tony Newmy, who was injured during last Friday night’s victory over Wynne. Winston Peace paced the Chickasaws with a game-high 25 points, while teammate Michael Caruthers chipped in 14. Fulton led the Raiders with 23. In the senior girls game, the Lady Chickasaws fell to Nettleton, 65-33. Alindavia Lockett led Blytheville with 11 points. The Lady Chicks (1-7, 3-12) fell behind 35-9 at halftime and couldn’t catch up. The Chickasaws and Lady Chickasaws host league foe Forrest City.
